In the land of Pollywood, a Scooby Doo-esque theme park, Dead End is the haunted mansion that serves as a portal to the angel and demon worlds. Steele has created a diverse cast of characters that find home in the theme park for various reasons, and they end up having to battle actual demons as well as the ones they face in their day-to-day lives. Even though the overall tone of the book is bright, it takes some dark turns, and puts characters through trials I was not expecting, making the story even stronger in my eyes because it spotlights the versatility and depth of teen graphic novels.
