Five Book Friday: In Memoriam
(0 comment)
Every year, the booksellers at Powell’s submit their Top Fives: their five favorite books that were released in 2023. It’s a list that, when put together, shows just how varied and interesting the book tastes of Powell’s booksellers are. I highly recommend digging into the recommendations — we would never lead you astray — but today...

This was one of those mesmorizing stories/readings on NPR. I was glued to the car seat until it was over. It was one of those things that I thought that I could've written, but then agin have nowhere near the command of the language that it would transcribe those thoughts and emotions.

I have not read "Break It Down". I heard a reading of the short story on public radio "This American Life". Now I want the book. The story caught my interest, caused me to listen, made me feel, and now I want to hear and/or read more. "Break it Down" stands up to the human relationship in terms that surround us each day. How refreshing in a time when economic crisis is the only important agenda in our lives. Lydia Davis is in the head of a generation lost between baby boomers and the virtual world generation. I look forward to reading more.
